Killing someone that's able to speak, able to reason, able to put their feelings into words, and that is part of your own species, which we were told to care for and respect since we were born, is not the same as killing an animal with which you don't have an emotional connection with, nor a language, mental faculties in common and that you can't relate to in mostly any way. Not to mention that you would go to jail If you killed a human
