  1. I'd say the Corvair six cylinder flat air cooled engine is among the best ever made in USA. It deserved a better fate, even if, with over two millon Corvair cars sold, it did not so bad. The rear transmission issues were totally solved by GM, but Corvair eputation was already hurt. What a pity! For Ralph Nader, who once lived on vegetables grown in his backyard, the Corvair was a fabulous quick. Having the tire pressures within specs was a lot of help in the Corvairs, they say. Blessings +
