Imagine that we are in the 24th of February and somebody tells you that in two months the situation will be like today and Russia is going to get a compromising defeat in terms of regular armies (not partisan) combat... Would you believe?

@taraswertelecki3786 One thing is certain- Poland will not capture any of its neighbours teritorries, there is no intention or perceived incentive in doing that, that is only Russian propaganda claiming such things. If Russia had been able to fight better, they would. As for now they lost 20% of their workable equipment like tanks and jets and 50% of guided cruise and balistic missiles. There is no reason to fear the paper bear.

@PavelSikun Retaking Crimea would be difficult in military terms and I am not sure that Ukrainian government is prepared for the calculable sacrifice over it. On the other hand the revolution in Russia over the losing war and maybe forceful conscription (had they do that, they would arm the supporters of the "Legion free Russia") is now distinctly possible- and then Crimea shouldn't be a problem in the peace talks with Russia.

@klassehkhornate9636 Had you known back then that Russian army is in such a state?

" a country will little to no natural barriers" Pripyat swamps and the Dnieper river are excellent barriers, especially in March. It is part of the reason Russians lost near Kyiv and there was no invasion on the west Ukraine from the Belarus teritory. You might not know it but Russian generals should know better- as it was part of USSR.

@rafimuhammadzakaria482 The last war that fulfills your conditions has been won by Russia in 1878 (They won with Turkey).

Funny guys, Russians. You never hear a true sentence from them. Just add a negation and you know what they think

@vittoriovenetov9655 On the east Ukrainians made defensive preparations for 8 years.

@alru4407 A bunch of lies. The fact is that Russia itself is now a militaristic state with social-nationalistic propaganda with the ruler cult and the new svastica "Z". It is only Russia, who did the unprovoked attack on a neighbouring country in order to build an empire. That doesn't make nazi any other country, but Russia itself. Russia didn't do to well in economic sense after 1990 precisely because it has been bankrupted afther the Afghan war and comunist- war economy. Separatism in Russia has been caused by Russia internal affairs not by the West. Russia was also degraded by corruption, alcoholism and so on- the problems not caused by the West. After that under Putin corruption hasn't improved, but simply the price of oil has risen, allowing Russia to hold its militaristic programmes (thanks God it has also been fully compromised by corruption) NATO is a defensive pact and Ukraine is a sovereign country and can decide about its future and has full right to protect its soverign teritorries. About nuclear weapons- Ukraine gave it out for the promise to respect and protect it sovereign territories by the USA, Great Britain and Russia. Russia had broken the pact. Nevertheless Ukraine hadn't have new nuclear program (alhtough in the light of the Russia actions and breaking the Budapest memorandum, it has right to do this)

@dariomladenovski6481 I assume they were using everything that they could. If they not, and due to this have sustained heavy losses (25000 killed soldiers, 20% of workable equipement) then it is a major tactical blunder, don't you think?
1
@dariomladenovski6481 The undisputable fact is that Russians lost the battle and withdrew from Kiev. The undisputable fact is that Russian invasion drags now over 2 months without any significant victory ( compare this to the USA invasion on Iraq) 60% of losses in equipment have photographical documentation collected on the oryx site. Time is against Russia as the West deliver various weapons to Ukraine. You can believe in what you want but the objective assessment of the situation can't be optimistic for Russia

@dariomladenovski6481 "how can they lose a battle when the Ukranians weren't even fighting in the first place? " A mistery indeed. Seems illogical. Have you ever considered the possibility that your assumptions were wrong?

We don't really know about everything because contracts are secret, but a lot of equipement is donated for free.
