In 2023, 43000 Americans were killed by firearms violence. Those numbers include suicides. "The story is not about guns, it's about self-defence". I am not so sure. It seems to me that not everybody is willing to work for a fait bit. Social cohesion is lacking? Education is absent? Parental supervision is absent? Who are Americans defending against? Other people with guns? Americans are killed by Americans by gun violence.
