@nickdancuo9512 And, don't forget, Eastern Europe. Russia gifted Eastern-Europe peace and new opportunities. Listen to how these Eastern-European countries turned peace into brutal warmongering.

The "Cuba crises" should be called "the Italy-Turkey-Cuba crises" as it was the USA that had placed nuclear weapons in Italy and Turkey to cover Russia. Chroetsjov and Kennedy brokered the deal that USA would retract its nuclear weapons from Turkey, while Sovjet Union/Russia would not continue the deployment of nuclear weapons in Cuba. Part of the deal was that the retraction from Turkey would remain secret as Kennedy felt that this could harm his political position. It goes to show that already in early 60ies the USA was the aggressor and that also in those days fascism in the USA was very strongly present. USA, of course, still has nuclear weapons in Italy as well as in many other European countries (Germany, Netherlands, ..... add if you know it).

Key term: Istanbul agreement. Terms that to a fair extent Ukraine and Russia agreed to or had a conversation on. As BJ interrupted the finalization of the Istanbul agreement, doubtlessly as an errand boy of the USA, a goodwill gesture needs to come from the west before e can continue with "Istanbul". A very fair point of view!

Very positive to see knowleadgeable people in the west after listening to the western political ideologues and so called "expert" military, who all seems to have just returned from the same, latest course at NATO and Langley (CIA). Of course, peace negotiations have been held, Minsk I (2014), Minsk II (2015) and Istanbul (2022) were close to a peaceful result, but betrayed by western leadership, as they themselves acknowledged. Russia seems to be on the right side of history and, more importantly, the west seems to be on the wrong side of history as the agressor. Peace and cheers from a Dutchman.

basiledex2164 Nope. As the west, through BJ's visit, interrupted the finalization of the Istanbul agreement, let the west re-enact and show a goodwill gesture. A very fair point of view!

Speech should be mandatory material for presentation and discussion in our national parliaments. Hope that peace will soon prevail.

The "media" are companies owned by the elite. Just a few people own the western media. The media have completely abandoned journalism and are a special interest group. The media have a "hand in glove" relation with other companies, where wealth and power have concentrated (Big energy, Big tech, Weapon manufacturers, Pharma). Politicians delude the electorate before election and are disengaged from their political ideas after the election.

I agree with your interpretation. Are deaf ears in the west opening up? Russia has been very consistent since 1991. The German Ostpolitik really worked. I keep being interested in "how the Americans have been able, probably in many small steps and a few big ones, to destroy the German (and therefore European)-Russia collaboration". Europe would have been the first global economic power and not by military supremacy, but by mutual interest and goodwill. We missed that chance. Maybe it is still somewhere in the future.

It will be a hopeful day for EU when the Queen-Pretender UvdL will be indicted and convicted for war crimes.

The goal of the USA is to prevent the European-Russian project (german Ostpolitik). It was too successful and had to be destroyed. The goal of the USA is to destroy the entire European economy (= too competetive) and led to the USA demolition of Nordstream, to cause as much damage to the slavic people as possible and what is better then to instigate and support a civil war, to do as much harm to Russia as possible, ultimately leading to a USA puppet regime in Moscow. The USA is an evil country! USA people: stop being cheerleaders for D and R politician. Working across the aisle (=Biden's career) has resulted in a one-party secret state.

"Informed citizen", absolutely, otherwise "democracy" does not function. But, how to get rid of certain preferences and pre-occupations or even a pre-meditated "lying reality" of governments in the west. They have had themselves historically defined by old, maybe outdated, structures. Example? being a member of NATO. It may interfere with clear understanding and judgement. Example? The Ukraine war. This war was for the western public justified by sickening western propaganda around the western cult figure Zelensky. Z. is a tool in a western robber agenda, much at the expense of the Ukrainian and Russian people.

American journalist Gonzalo Lira died in a Ukrainian jail. He could have been saved by one telephone call from Washington. The USA kills journalists. Free Julian Assange!

@avibhagan That is the privilege of the monopolar hegemonist. They decide which government to overthrow and which government is pliable enough to have the USA feed from its resources.

Zaluzhny will become USA's man in Ukraine? Biggest problem after the Ukraine war will be, how to hold the USA responsible for the death and destruction and make them pay for it. Do we have an organisation for justice in this world?

Joe Biden would not even be allowed to shine the shoes of mr. Matlock. Communism and totalitarianism has been transferred to the Western political system.

@mikedon5205 It is not about "Putin"! The Ukrainian-Russians in the Donbass and elsewhere in Ukraine would have kept what they already had for hundreds of years. Why give it to the Banderite-Ukrainians? It would have stopped the de-russification.
1
basiledex2164 If you say that the core of the conflict is the leadership in the west and their disabilities, I agree. But then, that's the problem. It is a western problem.

@llewev The motivation has been very clear since 24th of february 2022: Protect the Ukrainian-Russians from Ukr-nazi attacks and respect their desire of independence from nazi controlled Kiev, No NATO membership of Ukraine (neutrality) for obvious reasons because the USA would install military bases with nukes on the border of Russia (plenty of examples since early sixties), denazification (something like the USA implemented in Germany after WWII). Very plain and simple and a great contribution to PEACE. Now it is the west's turn.

This conversation is very revealing. It was apalling to hear the 180 degrees turn of Sweden and Finland into NATO. How can a sensible country like Sweden revoke their independence and join a belligerent alliance? As a Dutchman, my position these days is to cancil membership of NATO. The biggest threat to worldpeace is the neocon-MIC led USA.
