Another and very important difference between "the west" and for instance Russia is that the western countries had to lie for many years about the conflict, while Russia could speak the truth and get ~80% support of the Russian people. Any scholar who studies international East-West policies, knows that Russia's position is closer to the truth than the western position. Western countries and its institutions suffered enormous reputation damage in the eyes of the non-western world. Western are considered evil in fooling there own population and continuing colonial empire policies. It is also part of a pattern in the west: covid failure and lies, introduction central bank digital currency (CBDC) through the undemocratic backdoor, health passports to force experimental medicine on people, etc. etc. Democratic governments are not democratic anymore, but are full of pretense.

  4.  @Intel-i7-9700k  You forget to tell that the USA had nuclear weapons in Turkey aimed at Russia. Chroetsjov's action to achieve parity was completely understandable. The wisdom of JFK and Chroetsjov defused the situation. JFK was killed by the CIA, partially because he interfered with the USA deep state. The USA started the nuclear threat. If you want to use historic "evidence", you better be complete. Most important export activity of the USA is WAR.

Odessa was founded by the Russian tsarina Catharine the Great, Kharkov is inhabited by Russian speaking people. Ukrainian-Russians lived in Ukraine by birthright since many centuries. Nobody cared, until the banderite-nazi's started their policy of de-russification after the violent coup d'etat in 2014, supported by the USA. After 8 years, it forced Russia to invade and protect the Ukrainian-Russian population. A government can do a lot of harm to people without an invasion.
