@vatipaa1 Are they 100% self-reliant? Or do they now depend on USA-LNG in exchange for 4 or 5 nuclear USA military bases? Finland fought with the nazi's against Russia and is still doing that!

@fluviusOptio About Finland being self-reliant with energy: I assume, all the numbers you wrote, relate to Finlands own production. The other 87.5% is nuclear or Blue? With respect to USA military bases on Finnish soil, I caught a report from the USNavalInstitute saying: The Defense Cooperation Agreement signed Monday between Washington and Helsinki will give the American forces access to 15 installations — five in the High North near Russia — and permission to store equipment and weapons on Finnish soil. An "installation" being understood as a base. The Fins will have nothing to say anymore, what equipment and weapons the USA will store on your soil. The Finnish government has discarded the independence and sovereignty of the Fins. The USA will never let go or make you pay dearly. Not smart!

They had sufficient Kurds within their borders to be, for the time being, unacceptable to Turkey as a NATO member. USA pressure on Turkey or some freshly printed $$'s will "help" Turkey to accept Sweden too. France is a founding member of NATO in 1949, when the west organized the cold war against the Soviet Union. Germany is still occupied by the USA and not an independent country, when it concerns foreign policy. Turkey is only a member of NATO because it was close to the Soviet Union and a good base for nuclear war heads, which triggered what has become known as the "Cuban missile crises", a misnomer. Hungary is nowadays irrelevant to NATO. Nice to have steppe land to push through a tank army, but tanks will become obsolute. Robot warfare will destroy tanks, a nice example we can see in Ukraine. We will see how autonomous, sovereign, independent Finland will be. For now, they have lost it and it won't get better.

@vatipaa1 Why not LNG ports in the baltic states? The USA doesn't trust the Baltic states. Too close to Russia when they escalate into WW3. USA has secure control over Finland. Who is the owner? Who paid for the infrastructure? Who delivers the LNG? Who decides? My guess is: not the Finnish parliament.

Anybody powerful enough can dictate. Military might is the basis of USA foreign policy. Why not Russia or China or anybody else feeling powerful enough? My hope was that we would use diplomacy to settle arguments. The west reenacted on many East-West treaties. They had a plan.
