The US government has accumulated 36,5 trillion dollar in debt. How do they bring that to zero, or some reasonable fraction of GDP? Better close some military bases world wide. It is an immediate cost reduction of an expense called waste.
131
Also a good idea is to propose a more than 1 trillion $$ defense budget, completely wasteful and unnecessary, because you only need to respect your neighbors. Unfortunately, that is very unAmerican.
16
Dump your dollars and let the 36 trillion be an American national problem.
11
Watched and listened with pleasure. Both wonderful people.
10
Always like to listen to you. This was an especially interesting contribution to the conversation.
7
Greed of the few spoils it for the majority. Sanction instrument is the opposite of exporting freedom. Borrowing will make you dependent and a slave of the banking system.
4
Typical for the USA.

Estonia: if we all become thieves, we will call it honosty.
3
Many Americans deserve respect, but does the American State deserve respect? It looks to me that "America" has been escalating from the first step.
3
Ukraine is the proxy of the USA to fight against the Russians. It is USA who is the traitor to its proxy. USA wants to pretend they have nothing to do with the war against Russia. Never trust the USA. Z. just wants to seduce USA to stop cheating on Ukraine.

There is some hope for the world that the empire of lies and deceit will lose relevance.
2
@timothyd4298 Europe has to estimate the economic damage as a result of the Nord Stream destruction by USA terrorism, and put it on the table.
2
Thank you, Lena. BRICS is the most hopeful diplomatic development of the 21st century. The Netherlands should join BRICS as quickly as possible, if they can, because their "friend", USA, will find a way to prevent the Netherlands from doing that. That is how sovereign we are!
2
De-dollarization as fast as possible. Fixed value cash money against a fixed basket of resources. Stop globalization, dehumanization, sovereignty to the individuals creativity for the common good. I can only hope that the Netherlands makes the right choice on behalf of its citizens.
2
Hope for world peace will be supported by a further decline of the dollar. Is that a correct assessment? Will war and defense spending become unsustainable for the USA? Or, will the USA cannibalize all other expenses before the defense budget?
1
EU has become an ""armtwisting" operation, just like the USA empire where, if you disagree, you force allegiance. NL should consider BRICS. This is, however, for the leadership of NL psychologically impossible as NL has been the monkey on a chain on USA's shoulder for such a long time.

The big blunder of the west, in the last half century, is that, in spite of its prosperity, it never wanted to have parity in relationships. The west's policies were parasitic and self-serving in nature. We could have done so much better and with much better prospects for the entire world. We blew it, big time.
1
It must be observed as a hopeful event that the bullying, arm-twisting, extortion, regime changing, employing starvation, threats with wars, paying opposition or killing leadership by the USA on China and Russia are not working anymore. I think the world pays attention.
1
The enemy is within the EU.
1
No, politicians are selfish smart. They are motivated by greed.
1
The emperor has no clothes on and cannot hide its evil anymore.
1
USA extortion. Trump is a gangster?
1
The role of ceremonial traditional tea culture shared between world leaders was an eye-opener for me. It brings in humanism, knowledge, spirituality and grounded traditionalism in the relationships of men. A much better alternative then just cold-technocratic-superiority and loud-mouth bralling that is a hallmark of western politicians. Thank you, Dr. Powell, for that insight. I think it is profound. Thanks, Lena, for having this guest on.

USA is, and has never been, about freedom and democracy! The game goes on and, now, not even Europe trusts the USA, like the rest of the world. Let's wait to see which concessions Russia will demand from the USA, the agressor in the Ukrainian war.
1
This should be enough to deny Trump a Nobel price, although, more than one war criminal got one.
1
Biden pretending he did well on economics. Pretense spreads no butter! Stop voting wars!
1
Can you somewhere pay attention to Venezuela and its possibility to join BRICS. The USA has been trying to regime change Venezuela for decades (?) and it still maintained independence. Venezuela has some of the biggest fossile fuel reserves in the world. It may be that that is also a problem for existing BRICS members. How does this all balance out and what is the status of V. with respect to BRICS+. Thanks for all you do and your explanations of economic change.
1
Milei selling Argentina's resources to USA companies in exchange of an IMF lynch knot for the Argentinian people.
1
Trump in the clutches of the Deep State and he seems to like it. Voter betrayal.
1
A direct threat to USA totalitarianism. BRICS is pro sovereignty and pro democracy. Western ideological bla bla to lie to you.
1
The US$ is a reserve currency on the way out. It was intended to strangulate other countries, while generating profits for USA banks without working. US$ is an instrument of slavery. Trump just spilled the beans. That's why the USA elite does not like him. They wanted to work this scheme quietly. USA has never understood freedom. Not understanding freedom is engrained in USA history. It was always "freedom for me and not for the other". Agree with your analysis, thank you, as always, for your clarity.
1
Never forget that the destruction of European economy, starting with destroying the European-Russian collaboration, was a goal of American foreign policy. Two ducks with one stone, both Europe and Russia are victim of USA imperialism.
1
@carlsoriano187 Looking for trouble in Europe since early 1945 when USA helped the nazi's escape and to use them against people elsewhere on the globe. USA has never done anything without benefitting.
1
@TanksBradley-bf8nt Old and boring, but lost nothing of the truth it expresses. USA is a robber state.
1
@cpplus-h1w When has that happened?
1
Countries, banks and other organizations should entirely stop buying USA treasury. It is the most peaceful way to stop the USA war machine.
1
It is not Donald Trump. The problem is the USA. Trump dances, the Deep State decides. Trump is just a certain style. It is a layer of paint over rotten wood.
1
A long-term peace addressing the source events of the war, such as the wish of the USA-UK to turn Russia into a western satellite state since 1945 (western collaboration with fascism/nazism), 1949 (foundation of NATO) or 1994 (NATO expansion).
