I am 75 yrs old. My mom made everything I wore thru part of college. She made Dad's bathrobes. She made all of her own clothes. She did not make my 2 bris clothes. Fabrics, notions, patterns were readily available. (Also She was FAST!) She quit when Loehman's came to town. She said that her time was valuable & it was less expensive to purchase at a good discounter. She hemmed, patched, repaired, &, once in a while, sewed on a workhorse machine she got in about 1937. She also made curtains, aprons, some baby clothes. Such talent. Such treasures. Such memories!!
