  10. Oh what a surprise - pawns for the rich. I knew this during the Viet Nam War, when i was still young. I should hv left the U S then, but we believed we could make our gov't live up to ideals of the Constitution. When Malcolm, MLK, & Robt. Kennedy were murdered. I should hv figured it out as final. How is it that hope springs eternal? Bigger issue - the U S has far too much impact on this planet - wars, oligarchs, colonizing, climate degradation. Shit. We let down the world. I wrote, voted, organized, protested, ran a union, volunteered. Citizens United & gerymandering guarantees rule by ONLY the wealthy & big corporations. Drugs? Suicides? Crime? School shootings? The kids hv run out of meaning & hope. Now looks like we move right into fuul-blown authoritarian fascism. God will not save us as we invented him while denying the sacred in Mother Earth & in our selves.
