@sithsquid1 Why would it hit people hard? In Austin minimum wage is $7.25, but even McDolands pays $10.75.

The 2019 Tax Foundation Study on purchasing power by state tells you all you need to know about minimum wage.

It's amazing how 100 million people dying under Communism taught the world nothing! MONEY HAS NO FIXED FUCKING VALUE! If you artificially enforce economic equality it comes at the price of making everyone's money worth less (two words, but it becomes one word eventually)!

In Austin minimum wage is $7.25 yet even McDonalds pays $10.75.

Or spent two seconds trying to think about how economics works.

If money had fixed purchasing power we'd have no reason not to just go outright Communist and pay everyone exactly the same.

How do those not make sense?

This fills me with such rage and despair. How willfully ignorant are these people? Even when I was 10 I was not this simple-minded about economics. They get angry when you call them Communists, but what reason would not have to support Communism if you're this simple-minded?

No it shouldn't. We have no maximum prices, so why do we need minimum wages? An intern or volunteer can work for $0 an hour, so why can't I work for $5 an hour? The "race to the bottom" argument is BS. In Austin minimum wage is $7.25 but even McDonalds pays $10.75.

It does matter if you don't print more money, because when minimum wage reaches the average wage, you've achieved utopian Communism where everyone makes the same regardless of what they do.
