  1. Especially because when you think about it going to college is selfish if you are just doing it to get the leg up on someone who didn't go to college (ie it won't make you better at your job). It's a zero-sum gain, no better than getting money from theft or gambling.

  2. Really? You look at college students today and they don't seem "easily manipulated" to you? If you want to learn, go read some books. Our colleges are indoctrination centers. You might as well say re-education camps are good for democracy.

  3. Most people go to college just to get a leg up on the poor schmuck who didn't go to college. That's worse than making money from theft or gambling. In theft and gambling you gain only in so much as someone else loses. With college, not only is the previous sentence true, but on top of that the economy loses four years of productivity. I would support Affirmative Action for non-college graduates before I supported the government paying for college.

  4. Caveman level education? Please. I'm a web developer and everything I needed to know for that job I'd learned by 8th grade if I didn't learn it at Bootcamp. Education is just an excuse to prolong childhood.

  6. I've never heard someone who said college is a scam and also wants it to be free. The fact college is a scam is precisely why I don't think it should be free.
