  1. America could easily house and feed everyone in its borders. The problem is that's not what progressives really want. They want people to be housed and fed better than 90% of the world, else not housed and fed at all. THAT is why a sort of universal "bottom" for poverty in America is not economically feasible. In 1900, the median family home was 400 square feet. If "food and shelter for all" mean a 400 square foot apartment and a loaf of bread a day, America could easily feed and shelter everyone.
