  1. Except if you actually look at statistics people are working fewer hours than ever, and life expectancy, chance of owning any particular commodity, and living space per person has all gone up.

  2. Look up any objective measure of standard of living (life expectancy, percentage of income spent on food, living space per person) and you’ll see it’s better today than it was 50 years ago, no matter what the nation.
