The left says "culture" when they mean "race" to avoid showing how racist they are.

@mesh7342 And banning white people from wearing them is only going to make those styles seem more alien and taboo. But what's worse is you probably realize that. This crusade against cultural appropriation is simply about punishing white people for being born white.

Think about it like segregated bathrooms and waterfountains. During Jim Crow, some white people felt blacks were so vile and tainted with sins that they desecrated these white spaces just by touching them. Now black people think white people are so vile and tainted with sin that they mar their culture simply by touching it.

@hustle6850 That's been because its all already been appropriated, jackass. Baseball was white culture until Jackie Robinson. Broadway was "white culture" until A Raisin in the Sun. Boxing was white culture until Mohammed Ali. Etc.
4
@mesh7342 Because white people don't have to disrespect or hate you to be accused of cultural appropriation.

Yet somehow no one has a problem with the glut of "Sexy Nun" costumes that are marketed for Halloween. This about hating white people, nothing else.

@nye1915 Does it matter? Asians are so privileged in the West (in the eyes of the left) they have to be kept down with Affirmative Action harder than whites. Yet any time someone appropriates their culture the SJWs ball their eyes out for them.

@mesh7342 Look no one's saying its okay to treat black people differently for wearing the same hairstyles, but this "cultural appropriation" nonsense throws anger the white people who wear these styles, not the ones who hold double standards. Common sense would say white people wearing dreadlocks and corn-rows helps them become destigmatized, yet you would rather cut off your nose to spite your face and make everyone suffer than improve your situation. That being said, you have no proof white people are really treated better when they wear these styles. Obviously its easier to find stories of black people getting suspended or fired for these styles because they are 100X more likely to wear them.

99% of the time someone is accused of cultural appropriation it is nothing like that.

I have yet to see one drop of outrage at the glut of Sexy Nun Halloween costumes that have been marketed for as long as I've been alive.
2
This is about hating white people. Filipinos are safe.

"Comes from America" STFU. It comes from the Americans you Europeans/Canadians/Australians tell us to vote for every election (Democrats).
1
We all know VICE has zero problems with people dressing up "sexy nuns" for Halloween.

You can't have multiculturalism if cultures blend together. That's why I've always said multiculturalism and segregationism are two sides of the same coin.
1
But I'm sure you've never made a peep about the plethora of "Sexy Nun" costumes that come out every Halloween.
1
Never forget, the left hates white PEOPLE, not white privilege. Asians are so privileged in their eyes they have be kept down with Affirmative Action harder than whites, yet when someone appropriates their culture the left balls their eyes out for them.
1
@masterclassbeatassclapyour7698 It's a Democrat issue, the party you Europeans support in every election.
1
@donaw1067 I'm sure you've never made a peep about "Sexy Nun" costumes, which are all the rage every Halloween.
1
@treybanks327 99% of the people who are accused of cultural appropriation never claimed to invent the the thing they are accused of appropriating.
1
Wearing a sacred headdress for fashion is cultural bastardization. Cultural appropriation is just a term invented to help Neo-segregationists feel better about themselves.
1
Yes, because you're white. If you were any other race you would be fine.
