@mmtot Cancer is increasing because people are living long enough to get cancer. In 1950 the life expectancy was 65. Obesity is increased because the poor aren't starving anymore. All the spiritual rot you speak of comes down to progressivism, which is a philosophy based on bitterness and ingratitude. If it wasn't for progressives, there would be no welfare state, no broken families and therefore far fewer teen suicides and adrift, emasculated men.

@Bee_Bill287 The life expectancy has increased 15 since 1950. People are dying from heart disease, cancer, and diabetes because those are diseases that effect older people and people aren't getting cut down by something else first. Violent conflict is at a historical low, look up "War and Peace: Our World in Data." The casualties inflicted by drone strikes are NOTHING compared to the deaths caused by Vietnam, WWII, WWI, the Napoleonic Wars, etc.

It's not just about the spread of bad news, but the rise of the political left. The left pushes socialism and abortion. You can't have socialism without ingratitude, and you can't believe in overpopulation without believing things are getting worse and the human population grows.
7
Suicide rates are due to the misery spread by the political left, the people who want to convince us everything is getting worse, so they can push socialism and their baseless overpopulation narrative.
3
Politicians like Bernie Sanders need people to be bitter and ingrateful to keep their power.
2
Do you believe that leftists "starving kids in America" bullshit? You can buy a loaf of bread at HEB for $1.28.
2
Considering the population has almost doubled over the past 30 years and yet life has improved drastically...yeah, a rising population isn't worse.
2
Socialism is the main reason people think things are getting worse and worse. This lecture shows how silly concepts like a "living wage" are, because wealth is relative.
1
Since 1950, the median house size has more than double, the life expectancy has increased by 15 years, and the percentage of income the average family spends on food has gone from 30% to 9%.
1
The left have their filthy, diseased hearts set on convincing us everything is getting worse. Why? 1) Socialism and gratitude don't mix. 2) It helps them push their factophobic 'overpopulation' narrative so they can push more abortions and generally indulge their misanthropic instincts.

It all comes down to politics. For the majority of the 20th century, America was living under the shadow of some kind of terrifying enemy. People who said "America sux" would be considered agents of subterfuge. They wanted to keep Americans grateful and happy so they could keep our fighting spirit. Now our only enemies are scrappy jihadists in caves. There's more utility in making Americans bitter so we'll embrace socialism. Who would embrace Bernie's rhetoric that Walmart pays "starvation wages", for instance, if they knew their ancestors lived on scarely more than a dollar a day in today's money and that 80% of the planet still lives on less than $10 a day? Who would embrace the idea that there is any such thing as a "living wage" if they knew about how people lived for 99.9% of human history? Who would embrace Rashida Tlaib's idea that making less than $20 an hour is a violation of their human rights if they knew the working class today live better than kings did 300 years ago? No one.

@solar02130 Poverty today is a joke compared to what it meant in our grandparent's time.
1
Is that really so bad? Life as a wild animal is brutal.
1
It all stems back to ingratitude. If there was no ingratitude, there would be no leftism. No leftism, no Great Society. No Great Society, no broken family and no lost, aimless men.
1
Now tell me again how this meshes with the left's beloved overpopulation narrative?
1
As long as there is leftism, this will remain true. Who would vote for socialism unless they are full of rage, bitterness, entitlement, and a sense that things can't get any worse?
1
It's about political opportunism. You can't convince people their wage violates their human rights or the world owes them something if they are not bitter and ungrateful.
1
Really? These statistics are a shotgun blast to the face of the left's completely unsubstantiated dogma of overpopulation. If overpopulation was a problem, why are things getting better as the population increases.
1
Also, you won't wake up one day and notice the planet can't sustain humanity anymore. You'd start to feel a pinch first. The cost of living space would start to increase, food prices would start to increase, etc. But the trend has been the polar opposite over the last 150 years.
1
That's because of sin, not because of overpopulation or some leftist bullshit.
1
The white race is in decline because white people buy into the factophobic narrative of "overpopulation", which all Steven's stats clearly show is bullshit.

I know I saw a website like this once...if only I could remember the name.

Dennis Prager absolutely DOES NOT say this. He says our spiritual existence is rotting, but materially speaking even the middle class live better than kings. "If You Hate Poverty, You Should Love Capitalism" is just one video where he talks about this.
