It drives me up the wall how fellow conservatives will mock liberals for saying "love is love" and claim they're perverts who ignore "God's will" and biology, then simultaneously turn around and act like puberty means nothing and pedophilia just means sex acts with someone under 18. This was a fully developed adolescent girl and they didn't even have sex. We tell kids under 18 not have sex because of the risks (STDs, pregnancies) and the theory they're not mature enough to deal with the emotional attachments. How much do either of those things apply to this? You can't get diseases and or pregnancies from sexting nor does it bring any serious emotional attachments. This was damn near a victimless crime. It was gross and creepy but that's it, 21 months is more than enough.

That's "sexual maturity" and it is considered adulthood in literally every other species on Earth. That's why for 99% of human history, adulthood was in the early/mid teen years. One of the first girls I ever got dirty with online (trading pictures) phone sex said she was 19. Later she just got tired of me, dismissed me, and left with a "Oh, I'm 16 by the way."
