Tell me how you're not a disingenuous asshat? Remember when people in France were dying from a heat wave?

Stop using this crisis as an opportunity to play "stick it to the man." The idea that people who deny us power for profits makes no damn sense as they make money from us using electricity. There's no where to buy food or clean water because every outlet of commerce has been closed because people don't want their employees driving on icey roads. If the grocery stores told people to come to work despite the ice you'd be wailing about corporate greed right now.

My power is fine. But I'm boiling snow to drink and flush by toilet.

Reading these comments feels like watching the Onion's video. "Truck Accident That Killed Rafters in Canyon Sparks Truck-Canyon-Rafter Reform Debate". No one saw this coming, no one had any reason to.

Liberals: Durr hurrr corporate greed! Anyone who uses this to soapbox about corporate greed needs to try exercising a smidgen of intellectual honesty. Corporations can't make money unless we consume their services! Corporate greed is what we need more than ever right now! If corporations were sufficiently greedy they would have already fixed the burst pipes and restored the power so they could start charging us again.

@jamesmeppler6375 Maybe because if didn't work nothing we wanted would ever be produced? Cars, electricity, purified drinking water, apartments don't just fall out the damn sky. You're free to drink from a lake or forage for you own food but if you want eating to be as simple as a trip to the grocery store you're going to have to pay for that.

Stop playing stick-it-to-the-man. What the hell does this have to do with "profits over people"? Electrical companies aren't making any money off of people with no power. A huge part of the reason Texas is in crisis is that when the roads froze no one was expected to come to work, thus we have no where to get food, clean water (assuming our pipes burst) etc. because every outlet of commerce is closed. If employers had forced the workers to come to HEB and 7-11 you'd by crying about corporate greed.
