90% of ‘racism’ is not systemic oppression, it’s people acting in defiance of the system and the system bringing the hammer down on them as a result. For example ‘The employee was fired for a racist Facebook post.’

90% of the time we hear about someone being "racist" they are acting in defiance of the system. The Tea Party was called racist for protesting the people in power at the time.

@Blueknight1960 What if you are trying to describe someone's appearance, or talk about racism? You can't say "Dylan Roof shot up a church because he hates Americans".

@KendalMike "The USA puts the prominence on race/ethnicity rather than nationality." In English, the adjective comes first and then the noun. I'd say nouns are more important than adjectives. IE if someone says they have a "red carpet", I think the word "carpet" is more important than "red."

You can’t be racist towards White people because racism was invented by White people? Jesus Herbert Walker Christ, that’s like saying you can’t shoot White people because guns were invented by White people. Oh and Arab philosophers were writing racist shit about Blacks before Europe even had a word for the White race.

The term "Asian" itself is a problem. It treats race/culture/nationality/geographic-origin like they're all indistinguishable. We use terms like "White" and "European" differently because we understand those things are distinct.

I remember recently there was a study reported by multiple news outlets titled something like "What Makes Black People Happy". Why the hell would you racially segregate a study like that? Bob Marley said "Until the color of a man's skin means no more than the color of his eyes, me say war." If the media reported a study called "What makes blue eyed people happy" you'd think they'd gone insane.
