@missyblue4966 Funny how these race swaps only happen to white characters. Where were all the white people in Mulan and Aladdin?

Disney racially screened the voice actors for the Lion King remake, animated talking animals, to all be of African descent. Yet now when you're replacing a white woman's role, race doesn't matter? We see right through you.

Disney wouldn't even hire people who weren't of African descent to play talking animated animals in the Lion King remake. Now all of the sudden race doesn't matter?

@sillylilstella I'm sure people like you would blow your top if they made Mauri look white in Moana, despite that he's a mythical being and no more real than a talking fish. Also how convenient that skin tone doesn't matter, but somehow hair color does because they went out their way to dye Haley's hair red. This isn't colorblind casting and you know it. They went out of their way to make sure a white woman didn't fill this role. They didn't play fast and loose with race when casting for Aladdin or Mulan.

@ghostpants8213 Disney went so far as to ensure only African American voice actors played roles in the Lion King. We're talking computer animated animals whose voice actors no one even sees. But now they race swap The Little Mermaid? This isn't colorblind casting, its an intentional insult to white people. Taken in isolation, no one would care about this sort of thing, but its part of a long trend with Disney.

@Arborpress Exactly. They could have gotten an actual red head, and then they wouldn't have to dye Haley's hair.

@Dimitry Barthelemy Aladdin was a made up character in a made up land. Where were all the white people in that remake?

@rachelj110 Racist? Disney went so far as to ensure only African Americans did the voice for the Lion King remake. We're talking about animated animals no one even gets to see. But now they're race-swapping The Little Mermaid. A fairy-tale that takes places in Cophenhagen? If it's racist to care about race in casting, Disney is the most racist company on Earth, but then they pretend race doesn't matter when they're swapping out white people's roles.

They don't love black people, they hate white people. They weren't casting white people in the Aladdin or Mulan remakes for the sake of "diversity". The point is less white people, not more black people.

If Mauri the demigod is supposed to look Polynesian, why isn't Ariel supposed to look white? Demigods aren't real either.
1
How is this equality? Where were all the white people in the casting of Aladdin and Mulan? Even the Lion King remake, a movie with freaking talking animated animals, only cast voice actors of African descent.

Glad to know you get your entire understanding of history from tumblr talking points. Every popular sport (except Lacrosse), and every popular holiday was invented by white people, as was the fairytale this movie is based on.
1
Lol you are running the country and yet you are oppressed at the same time. Sure.
1
Because it's an intentional insult to white people. They went so far as to ensure only African American voice actors played roles in the Lion King remake: ie animated animals whose human counter parts no one can even see. Yet suddenly race doesn't matter when it comes to The Little Mermaid? Of course, race does matter to them, they think the less white people the better.

You never stop to wonder why no one hated the Black Panther and everyone hates this?
1
@KingLee444 You support going out of your way to deny white women acting roles solely out of racial spite and yet I'm the racist? Sure.
