  1. Afghanistan was bone dry. Syria has tons of oil but the US waited a very long time before getting involved in the Syrian Civil War, and even then our involvement has been minimal.

  2. An April 2004 Gallup poll showed Iraqis thought overthrowing Saddam was worth it by a margin of about 2 to 1. They only changed their tune in 2006 when sectarian violence kicked into high gear. In other words Bush's crime was not knowing what was best for Iraq better than the Iraqis. (Also Gallup was the same company that polled Crimeans after the annexation and reported the vast majority of them thought Russia's referendum was fair so don't you dare accuse them of having a pro-American bias).
