What this guy did was wrong and deserves more punishment, but news outlets should be focused on accurate and clear dissemination of the truth, not virtue signaling. From what I understand this was a seduction, statutory rape, and while that's still very wrong, its a lot less psychotic than violent rape. If you are running a story about someone being forgiven for a crime, it's very important to get across whether they committed crime x or a crime worse than x. Yet every outlet is just calling it "rape" in the headlines. Using language that makes a story more ambiguous, for the sake of showing how wrong you thought an act was, is virtue signaling. If it's not virtue signalling, there's not a thing in the universe that is virtue signalling. You cannot logically dispute this, so save me your irrational, emotional responses.

@RandomInternetUser-yi5cc It was a seduction, statutory rape, from what I understand, not the violent kind. Although both are very wrong one is significantly more psychotic. Yet because of the virtue signaling games of the media, a lot of people don't have an accurate picture of this story. I'm not saying what he did wasn't very wrong, and he should have done more prison time, but those are still two very different stories.
