This doesn't sound right. Tesla, or anyone who went into the business with him, still would have made huge bucks over off of an energy business with this model. Even if enough power could somehow be shot into the atmosphere to power the world (I find it very hard to believe this wouldn't cause some disasterous ecological effects), people would still need some kind of receptor for the power, wouldn't they? And Tesla and this investors could have made a fortune selling those across the world.
