  1. It’s easy to say when Hatambe is the one dead. I wonder what you’d say if he killed the kid instead. I doubt it would be ‘well, I don’t blame them for not taking the shot, who could have seen this coming’?

  2. The child was probably safe, but it’s so easy to judge the zoo’s decision in retrospect. If he had attacked the child, what would the response be? Definitely not an understanding ‘Well the gorilla didn’t SEEM threatening so who could blame them?’ There would be protests across the country, especially since the kid was Black.
