Obviously you shouldn't be on a job like this if you need to take a post for breast feed, but for every woman that's a mother there's a man that's a father. The reason every civilization prior to this didn't put women on the front lines is because they had to be constantly pregnant to maintain the population in a world where 2 of your 3 children died before age four. That and they were the limiting factor of the population (1 man plus 100 woman equals 100 children). Beyond that it was pure lizard-brain animal instinct driven by evolutionary forces, no different than male lions killing each other while leaving the females alone because they represent potential mates. Don't try to rationalize male disposability. Its a low and feral drive. Even the Bible does not say men have a duty to take a bullet for random women, only his wife, the way a wife is only expected to submit to her husband.

The problem is not woman, but the fact they were going out of their way hire women. On average, yes, men are better for this situation, but that's only an average. Men are more likely to commit homicide but it doesn't mean every man is more homicidal than every woman either.
