To me the real issue here is fraud. How is sending a letter to the insurance company diagnosing someone with a disorder they don't have not illegal fraud?

It might make some people smarter.

This is a dangerous road to go down. The Soviet Union used to institutionalize people for "sluggish schizophrenia" for criticizing the regime. "I believe mentally sound people should be able to do anything they want as long as it doesn't hurt others, but if you want to do X, you're not mentally sound." When does it end? How does this line of thinking not make liberty a meaningless concept. I reminds me of "I believe in free speech, just not hate speech."

Using a diagnosis for a disease you don't have...I think that's called fraud.

I literally laughed at what's on the folx website!

The bigger issue here I think is fraud. They admit they are "diagnosing" patients with diseases they don't have. That has to be illegal.

@glorihol6803 Stupid comment, but Glittering Angel is right. That "consensus" comes from ruthless intolerance. It's like citing Kim Jung Un's approval rating in North Korea as evidence he's a good leader.

I agree this is a dangerous road to go down, it reminds me of when people say "I support free speech, just not hate speech." That being said, what Matt is calling attention to seems to me to be illegal acts of fraud. What else could you call diagnosing a patient with a disorder they don't have, which Folx outright admits they do.

Honestly, it's radical, but I believe if someone is an adult, they should be allowed to lobotomize themselves. That's liberty. Saying "I believe in freedom but not the right to lobotomize yourself" is like saying "I believe in free speech, but not hate speech." EDIT: It is an interesting philosophical issue how laws against "fraud" and concepts like "lies by omission" could intersect with the idea of a "consenting adult", though. Certainly if someone lied to you about the effects of lobotomy, that's no different than feeding you cyanide and saying its candy.

We need a "What is Gender Dysphoria?" documentary.
