It has nothing to do with whether the minor wants it. If it was we wouldn't have an age of consent because physically forcing someone into sex is always illegal!

  11. Whether they "wanted it" is beside the point. Do you really think the underage girls who sleep with men don't "want it", that they aren't acting on hormones too!? The fact is you were just raised in a society that sees female sexuality as benign and male sexuality as benevolent and you accepted it without question. Teenagers love drinking too. Does that mean we should lower the drinking age to 13? No.

  12. Most of the stuff in the Catholic Church was teenage boys too. It was gay, but still boys. Also I read a study that the average age of sexual awakening for teenage boys is 14.8. That surprised me because the way people talk you would think it would be younger, but take it for what its worth.

Women don't believe you when you say boys like this are "lucky", so why do you extend them the favor of believing girls who have sex at this age are horribly traumatized? The truth is probably somewhere in between. Men and women are not that different when it comes to sexual regret. I remember a study on hookup culture that showed 50% of women had regret the next morning. But guess what? For men it was 25%. So there's a substantial difference, but its not the 99:1 ratio you probably expected.

The truth is, yes, the boys probably won't be "traumatized", but my friend stole a case of his dad's beer and got drunk with his brother in the alley at ten years old. As far as I know he had a great time. Does that mean the drinking age should be 10? Hell no. Adults are doing a horrible job handling sexual liberation and we shouldn't export it to minors. Besides, hypersexuality is a real issue that can arise from hebophilia. I had a friend who got laid on his eighth grade summer vacation by a High School freshman girl. His mom never knew, of course, but it he became so adamant in his search for more poon she had to transfer him to a private, all-boys school.

And while I agree this is wrong let's not pretend there's no difference between legal adulthood and biological adulthood. 18 as adulthood is not a law of nature, it's anything but. It makes no sense nature would make you horny, fertile, adult sized and shaped, independent minded, embarrassed to be seen with your parents if she wanted you to be a child, and all those things happen well before 18 on average. In every society prior to the K-12 education system, you were an adult by 16 or earlier. Usually by 14.
