If by heroes you mean insurgents, half of them joined the US in the Anbar Awakening after realizing the evil they were fighting for, and the other half stayed behind to form The Islamic States of Iraq, precursor to ISIS.

@calizonawildtv5695 How many thousands of deaths could have been avoided if the insurgents cooperated with the US in the first place, or at least let us do our jobs instead of shooting at us?

@yansideabacoa6257 "a handful of white US lives seem to be worth more than the lives of 300,000 iraqis." That's exactly how the insurgents and their sympathizers felt. They would rather kill a handful of white Americans than help us root out terrorists and save hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. Ever heard of the Anbar Awakening?

@albarsalan3611 This very day, 15 years ago, a carbomb detonated at a restaraunt Iraq killing 19 people. But you've already forgotten about that, just like all the others murders that were committed every day by the terrorists America was trying to kill and capture.

Maybe because the US actually installed a democracy. Who do you think elected the Iraqi government? Do you think it was America's idea to put Sadrists in parliament?

@timby2383 More than they wanted to suffer and die for the Mahdi Army or the Islamic State of Iraq or whatever various insurgents factions we were fighting, who killed the vast majority of those "millions".

You know half the insurgents in Fallujah switched sides when they saw the evil they had brought about with their "resistance"? It was called the Anbar Awakening. The rest stayed behind to form ISIS.
