This is what the American melting pot is supposed to be. "Fried rice with plenty of bacon." They neither abandon their heritage, nor do they feel confined by it.

I'm sure more hyphenation, identity politics, and "celebrating our differences", brought to us by the PC left, will help with this. (Yes, that was sarcasm)

@alexanderhoekema6987 "American" and "Chinese" are nationalities, so you can't be any more of a "Chinese American" than a "male woman." These are Americans of Chinese descent.

Referring to them with these hyphenated, politically correct identities doesn't help. They are Americans of Chinese descent.

@bobtails7234 "Chinese" and "American" are both nationalities, so being a "Chinese American" is as oxymoronic as being a "male woman." They are Americans of Chinese descent.

@DivineHyperion Their identity should not be prescribed to them at birth based on the color of their skin. That's unnatural. White people don't act differently based on what region of Europe our heritage is in. Culture comes from peers, not race.

@DivineHyperion But it's not a good thing, so why are you promoting it?
