Because America is the only country in the world that is blamed for the crimes of its mortal enemies. According to Iraq Body Count, about 88% of civilians in Iraq were killed by "insurgents, militia, and terrorists", and no doubt they were hugely encouraged by the fact you'd blame their crimes on America. How else do you explain such bizarre events as the July Soccer Bombings, which seemed to target no particular group and were just to "get attention." You gave them this perverse incentive.

Yes, we forget that polls showed most Iraqis believed the war was "worth it" for overthrowing Saddam Hussien prior to mid-2006 (when sectarian violence kicked into high gear). We forget that this violence only ended because of the "Anbar Awakening", when the "nationalist" branch of the insurgency switched sides and started working with Americans instead of shoot at us. We forget that 88% of Iraqi civilians were killed by "insurgents, militia, and terrorists" (those are the estimates of John Sloboda of Iraq Body Count). The fact we throw this all under the bus just so we can hate our own country is incredible.

An April 2004 Gallup poll showed most Iraqis believed the war was "worth it" for overthrowing Saddam Hussein. It wasn't until mid-2006 when sectarian violence kicked into high gear that they changed their tune. In other words, they mass murdered each other, blamed Americans, and then pretended they never wanted to be liberated. Also, Gallup is the same company that polled Crimeans in 2014 and found 90+% of them thought Russia's referendum was legit so don't you dare accuse them of a pro-American bias.

Yes, we overthrew the man who was universally seen as the Kim Jung Un of his time and let people elect their own government. How monstrous. 🙄

An April 2004 Gallup poll showed Iraqis thought the invasion was "worth it" for overthrowing Saddam by a margin of more than 2 to 1. He gave your people what you wanted it, you mass murdered each other, blamed Americans, and rewrote history to pretend you never wanted to liberated.

An April 2004 Gallup poll showed Iraqis believed overthrowing Saddam was "worth it" by a margin of about 2 to 1. Gallup was the same company who reported over 90% of Crimeans felt Russia's referendum was fair so don't you dare accusing them of having a pro-American bias. America's great crime was not assuming we knew better than the Iraqis what was best for Iraq. But as we all know, anti-Americanism is one of the most ruthless, uncompromising psychic forces in human history, so history is being rewritten and the truth is being lost.

There is no way Saddam would have fallen during the Arab Spring. He was 100X more Orwellian than any dictator there. You could have your whole family killed off for the wrong joke, no way people would organize in the streets to protest him.

The Iraqi people should recognize that Bush literally gave them what they wanted. An April 2004 Gallup poll showed Iraqis believed the invasion was "worth it" for overthrowing Saddam by a margin of more than 2 to 1. Then they mass murdered each other in sectarian violence, blamed Americans, and pretended they never wanted to be liberated. That's a simple, historical fact.

Stop this nihilism. Saddam was one of the most brutal dictators the world ever knew and polls showed most Iraqis thought the war was "worth it" until mid-2006. Then sectarian violence kicked into high gear. They mass murdered each other, blamed America, and pretended they never wanted to be liberated.
