  12. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, during my time on the teh internetz it seems women are much more likely to feel "taken advantage of" during these types of relationships (the aforementioned boys definitely exist, though). So in that way it does seem a bit worse when a male teacher does it. On the other hand, I wonder how much of that is a self-fulfilling prophecy given we live in a society that teaches male sexuality is predatory and female sexuality is benign (think about how a movie like Forest Gump would go over with the public if Jenny was a man and Forest was a mentally handicapped woman).

  13. Actually I read a study on this and the punishment gap for this crime is no bigger than any other crime. You'd be surprised how short some of the sentences from the people who get busted on "To Catch a Predator" are, and those guys are targeting much younger individuals.

  34. Russia isn't all bad. They help us fight ISIS. I would be willing to forgive them, but not appease them. If the US looks weak, unable to stick by its promises (we promised to defend Ukraine in return for nuclear disarmament in 1994), Taiwan may be next. Its critical for world peace the US not look weak.

Due to the fact that men pay the vast majority of taxes and women collect the vast majority of social services, there's an average net transfer $100,000 dollars between the average man to the average woman over the course of their lives. We used to hate men who harmed and preyed upon women, while loving and celebrating those who protected and provided for women. Now we hate men who harm and prey upon women, and hate those who protect and provide for women slightly less.
