The girl was 13. While I think that's a pretty serious crime, it's melodramatic to assume it ruined her life. It wasn't that long ago that was a normal age for marriage. Didn't Jerry Lewis marry a 13 year old?

I think screwing a 13 year old is a pretty serious offense, but not worth a life sentence. Maybe 10 years. Plenty of people married at that age in your grandparent's day.

@tumblewede333 You're really saying is "Do you have some kind of relationship that would make you extremely biased and unable to look at this issue objectively? If not, your opinion is invalid." I'm guessing you're the same kind of person who would call his son "lucky" and high five him if he slept with his teacher at 13, since you think with your emotions.

"You're a brave man for going there." No, he's not. If he was a child going there, THAT would be brave.

@tumblewede333 Oh it's serious, but most violent rapists don't even get 20 years. Many get as little as 5. Do you think 10 years in prison isn't a serious punishment? Losing 10 years of your life isn't a serious consequence?

It's a suburb, that's normal.

10 years? The dude interviewed got 20.

Sexual predator is a broad term. What if all you did was grab some chick's butt?

They're not among us if they have their own village.

I agree some of the virtue signalling was annoying. "You're a brave man for going out there." Seriously? What danger was he in?

Don't be melodramatic. It should be a serious crime to do a 13 year old but I've never met someone who lost their virginity at 13 and felt their life was ruined by it. 13 is right on the border of pedophilia, but its not quite there. There's a reason most states have jurisdiction that draw the line at children under 13 for especially severe punishment and pedophilia is usually defined as attraction to kids under 12. 12/13 is really right at the no one man's land between childhood and adolescence (what we used to call "young adulthood"). They're not so innocent.

@rulesforthee7215 Stop with the disingenuous virtue signalling. What I said was quite clear. I said its a serious crime, but "lost their innocence" is kind of language you use when Batman sees his dad get shot in front of him at age 8. You're drawing a false dichotomy, that an action is either acceptable or life ruining.

@rulesforthee7215 sigh youtube keeps blocking my comments. All I'm saying is the kind of language OP is using should be reserved for the most severe forms of child sexual predation. People who, even in traditional societies, were never considered adults.

@Primussux710 I'm more sympathetic to someone who does things with a 13 year old than a 9 year old. The idea that it's all the same if they're under 18 is deluded and disgusting, especially given 18 has no basis in biology or tradition as a cut off for adulthood. I refuse to group them together.
