Its just surreal to think the most hated man in the world is the one who helped overthrow Saddam Hussein. It's like we're living in some kind of dystopian, Orwellian, alternate timeline. Saddam was the Kim Jung Un of his time, a leader 90% of people considered unambiguously evil. Imagine if someone overthrew Kim Jung Un, gave North Koreans the right to vote, and then became the most hated man on Earth 20 years later.
I wish Blair would come to America. He deserves better than his homeland. You throw your leaders under the bus to appease those who hate your country, rather than waste a molecule of effort on true patriotism, and then are shocked when the refugees you let in hate your country too.
The Iraq War was a mistake, but it was an understandable one. Think about it this way: If the Iraqis had tried to launch a democratic revolution of their own, and Tony Blair had intervened on behalf of Saddam Hussein on the basis that Iraq was better off with him in power, or Iraqis didn't want democracy, or whatever else the "anti-war" crowd told us, he would go down as history's greatest monster. But why? If those things were really true, he'd have done nothing wrong. But we live in a world of absolute moral delusion. No one cares about having a coherent ethical philosophy any more. They just take the easy route and appease those who hate them.
