  2. If people realized the world is getting better, they'd realize that the average pauper lives better than the average middle class person 50 years ago. Then they'd realize how meaningless terms like "living wage" and "stagnant working class" are and stop voting Democrat. It's politically convenient to keep people full of rage, bitterness, envy, and self-pity.
