@Me-fm9zk I'm sure you feel like a real badass who's sticking it to the man right now, but Iraq Body Count shows 90% of civilian casualties in Iraq were not killed by coalition forces. People who fought the US decided to side with the people causing 90% of the death, to avenge the other 10%.

Why the HELL would the US want unrest in Iraq!? People can't sell you oil while they're busy blowing up their own infrastructure, especially when half the country falls under control of America's mortal enemies.

So then the US should not be ashamed of overthrowing Iran's elected government 70 years ago. After all, the Islamic World doesn't want "Western thought" in their countries.

Do not resist what? Being able to elect their own government?

A Gallup poll in 2004 showed Iraqis thought the war was "worth it" by a margin or more than 2 to 1. Then in 2006, sectarian violence started to intensify. They mass murdered each other, blamed Americans, then pretended they never wanted to be liberated.

A 2004 Gallup poll showed Iraqis believed the war was "worth it" by a margin of more than 2 to 1. Then around 2006/2007, sectarian violence kicked into high gear. They mass murdered each other, blamed Americans, and pretended they never wanted to be liberated. It's that simple.

Polls show Iraqis overwhelming thought the invasion was "worth it" as late as January 2006 (Gallup, World Public Opinion). Then in 2006/2007 sectarian violence started reaching absurd heights. They wanted to be liberated, but then they mass murdered each other and blamed Americans.

The harsh sanctions forced Saddam to be brutal? Give me a fucking break. That makes no sense and you know it.
2
That doesn't make any sense. If Americans only wanted oil, why would we just stay friends with Saddam? We became his enemy, and place an embargo on him which stopped the flow of Iraqi oil into America.

@mr.x90603 Gallup, the same company that said the vast majority of Crimeans thought the Russian Referendum was fair, so don't you dare accuse them of having a pro-American bias.

The alternative was to have New Iraq protected by an army run by Saddam Hussein's most loyal supporters. Imagine all the problems that would have caused.

Islam is the reason Iraqis (according to you) were better off with a dictator that disappeared 10,000 a year (according to Human Rights Watch) than with their own elected government. So yeah, I think Islam is a bit of a problem.

@khaleddekar2188 The Americans let you literally write Islam into the Iraqi Constitution. Go to hell.

@dougshevlin2173 How the hell were you in the way of someone trying to get to work or buy food.
