Comments by "Dennis" (@Dennis-nc3vw) on "U.S. Promises More Military Aid In Ukraine As Russia Intensifies Attacks" video.
$600 to 350 million people isn't "little." What we're spending on Ukraine is nothing compared to what we spend subsidizing laziness and responsibility at home.

Since LBJ started his "War on Poverty" 50 years ago, the poverty rate in the US has not budged. But sure, I'm sure we can end hunger in the US 3.7 billion dollars.
4
We live in a country where a loaf of bread costs less than what our most poorly paid laborer makes in twenty-minutes, that's a kind of prosperity your great grandfather never even dreamed of. When poverty is that much of a joke, it's clear no matter how much money we throw at "the poor" people will still cry about how hard they have it.
3
Tens of trillions have been poured towards "fighting poverty" since LBJ's War on Poverty began 50 years ago and the poverty rate in America has, statistically speaking, not budged in the slightest. The only thing that's changed is a 6X increase in broken families due to the incentivization of out of wedlock births. But sure, we just have to throw another $3.7 billion at the problem and there will be no more homeless, right?

How is it an arms deal when we are giving these guns to Ukraine for free?
2
How is Ukraine going to get in debt with from free weapons?

I think I'm going to puke! $3.7 billion is literally what the US spends on its own people every 8 hours.
1
@ElleMargaux "Helping Americans". Christ, I think I'm going to puke. Since LBJ started his "War on Poverty" 50 years ago, the poverty rate has not budged. The only thing it's done is incentivize laziness and irresponsibility, hence the 6X increase in children born into fatherless homes.
1
Oh please, we spend 100X as much rewarding laziness and irresponsibility here at home, and you are going to complain about us giving pocket change to stop the advances of a mad man like Putin?
1
And yet you have the audacity to complain about $3.7 billion dollars, when our government spends that much every 8 hours.
1
$3.7 billion is what America spends on its own people every 8 hours you big babies!
1
I can't tell if its Marxists or MAGAts infesting these comments. Really, what's the difference? They all looked the same before Trump, I guess they all look the same after.
1
3.8 billion is what we spend on the American people every 8 hours.
1
The US spends this much on its own citizens every 8 hours. This aid is nothing. What good has throwing money at the poor in America ever done us anyway. LBJ's "War on Poverty" started 50 years ago and the poverty rate has not budged. All we see as a result is more rage, bitterness, and broken families.
1
Zelensky already offered a pledge of neutrality to end the war weeks ago. Putin didn't accept it.
1
Wow, have you ever heard of inflation?
1
Why do we spend a trillion a year on a welfare state that's increased broken families 6X?
1
"All this aid?" I think I'm going to be sick. The government has literally spent twice as much on us since you left this comment.
1
No matter how much money you throw at "the poor" there will always be poverty, because of the Peltzman Effect. I can't be happier 3.7 billion of my tax dollars will go to stop a mad man ravage an innocent nation, rather than being used to incentivize laziness, irresponsibility, and broken families here at home.
1
But you're fine with the US spending 3.2 trillion a year to reward laziness and irresponsibility?
1
So what? Poverty will always be with us. Since LBJ began his War on Poverty 50 years ago the poverty rate in America has not budged. Yet you'd rather throw spend $3.7 billion incentivizing laziness, irresponsibility, and out of wedlock birth in the US than spend it on stopping a mad man?
1
The US government literally spends several trillion dollars every year, and people are complaining about 3.7 billion to Ukraine. This comment section makes me sick. At least the pocket change we give Ukraine will be used to stop the advances of a mad man (Putin) and punish his evil, while the vast majority of what the US spends domestically is simply about rewarding laziness and irresponsibility.
1
For every four square feet of living space the average Western European has, the average poor American has FIVE. No matter how much America spends on its own citizens, we will still whine about how hard we have it. I'm glad this 3.7 billion is spent on something noble instead.
1
And yet you have the audacity to complain about $3.7 billion dollars. That's what the US government spends every 8 hours. If you really cared about debt you'd be complaining about Social Security and the welfare state.
1
For Christ's sake, do you know how much the US spends every year domestically? This aid to Ukraine is NOTHING. It's pocket change! And it's going to stop the advances of a mad man, rather than to reward laziness and irresponsibility (which is what it's usually used for).
1
The aid we've given Ukraine is NOTHING compared to what we spend domestically.
1
3.7 billion is literally what we spend on our own people every 8 hours.
1
Oh come the f*** on, anything we give Ukraine is a drop in a bucket compared to what we give our lazy citizens.
1
$3.7 billion is what the US spends on its own people every 8 hours.
1
This is the most nauseating comment section I've read in years. 3.7 billion, what the US has given to Ukraine, is what the US spends on its own people every 8 hours. And people have the audacity to complain about THIS spending, when we spend literally trillions every year to reward laziness and irresponsibility.
