Statistics show Americans are working 20% fewer hours than they did in the 1950s. It’s not about being overworked, it’s about not going home to a loving and appreciative family.

And cost of living just falls out of the sky, right? Or wait, no, it’s because of ‘corporate greed’, but corporations just happen to be particularly greedy in places like New York and California for some reason.

Why should they? You don’t care about the billions who are poorer than yourself. You probably make more than 99% of the world but have never given a cent to charity.

There’s no such thing as ‘decent wages’. Wealth is relative. If you make $45,000 or more a year you are in the top 1% of the world economy, and that’s measured in Purchasing Power Parity. They are killing themselves because they do grueling work that their wives or ex-wives benefit from but get no appreciation.

10% of Americans will make it into the top 1% in their life time and 56% will make it into the top 10%. My uncle worked in construction and after decades of experience he managed to start his own construction company and now lives an upper middle class life.

Two words can send your whole ideology crashing down: profit margins. Most big businesses could not pay their employees more than about 10% more even if they decided to reap no profits whatsoever.
