I live in Austin Texas where minimum wage is $7.25, yet even Panda Express pays $17.00 an hour. Minimum wage is completely unnecessary and only serves to outlaw a category of jobs people should be able to take by their own freewill. For example, I remember a web development company here in Austin that offered workers minimum wage for three months training, before shipping you off for a full time job somewhere else in the country. Plenty of people would take that offer for free if they legally could. Some might even pay for it. So why should it be illegal to offer it for minimum wage?
