They don't have full authority, they are still under the legal jurisdiction of China. Also 90% of women's "oppression" under patriarchy were just terms of the marriage contract. Women could go it alone or chose to surrender some of their freedom in return for being taken care of. Men in this culture simply don't have this option, that's why they aren't "oppressed."

Women have the option to go it alone in the West: they just don't take it. Either they get married or go on welfare for the babies they pop out 99% of the time. So yes, I think it's obvious who the real winner is.

Lol, teh wimmenz need to get off their high horses. Many communities in America DO live like this (families ruled over by single mothers with children from multiple men), with the added benefits they don't have to work for half of their money because of the welfare system. And those communities are the worst places in the country. We already have matriarchy in America, it's in places like Detroit, Atlanta, etc.

Men here don't have this option, that's why they are "free." Women had the option of going it alone and keeping their freedom in the vast majority of patriarchies but the vast majority did not take it.

I just scrolled through comments right above yours saying the guys in this village are good looking and postulating its because their lives revolve around getting sex. Further, how do you know the how happy the men are? I could easily make a documentary of an Amish village showing happy and content women and use that to "prove" women are happier under patriarchy. Actually statistics show women HAVE gotten less happy as society has gotten less patriarchal.

We already have this in America. This sort of familial structure exists places like Detroit, Atlanta, all the places that have been heavily influenced by the welfare state. They are also some of the worst places to live in the First World.

Women weren't "kept locked up", it was simply unsafe for them to travel alone. Both sexes were shepherded into specific roles and obviously if you're the financial provider you need to be able to leave the house. How is that any different than what you see here?

No, they'll just have other the other kinds of violence. The vast majority of murders, rapists, and children with behavioral disorders are from fatherless homes in the West. I don't see any reason this wouldn't apply in China.

What fucking culture like that has ever existed!? Right now in America men compose 97% of work place deaths, work 4 more hours per week than women, retire 2 years later and die 5 years earlier meaning women spend an extra SEVEN FUCKING YEARS out of the work force compared to men.
