Your body, your choice? Your body, your problem. Independence cuts both ways.

All school shooters have been fatherless. The fatherlessness crisis started when we let the "strong, independent woman" marry the state with social safety nets like this.

You can't be pro-safety net and pro-family. Paid maternity leave was the original point of marriage. This is just one more way to for "the strong independent woman" to marry the state. Programs like this caused the single motherhood crisis in the first place.

America believes in personal responsibility. The question is not "should children spend time with their parents" but "should parents manage their money and reproductive decisions accordingly or force the tax payer to foot the bill at the point of a gun." Back when we used to spend 30% of our income on food, which was also before Roe vs. Wade and 44 forms of birth control hit the market, no one needed to "paid maternity leave", and we're supposed to believe they really need it now? Paid maternity leave was the one and only reason marriage ever existed, and programs like this allow women to "marry the state" which is the source of the fatherlessness crisis we currently have.

@Ikajo Saying pro-lifers are anti-contraceptive because they believe you should pay for your own birth control is like saying the NRA is anti-gun because they still believe you should pay for your own gun.

That's funny because men are actually behind on this issue. Currently laws objectively favor WOMEN, who at least have unpaid maternity leave, but I guess since it doesn't favor women even more it's misogynist, right?

If safety nets were what people wanted, they'd be illegally crossing the border from the US to Mexico to get free healthcare.

Why don't you stop playing dumb? Freedom means lack of coercion, not "free stuff." Whether you like it or not, this is freedom, because no one is putting a gun to the heads of tax payers or corporations and telling them what to pay for.

Yet people could afford it back when you used to spend 30% of our income on food. How does that work?

Tax cuts are not spending. When a store slashes its prices, is it spending money? No, it's encouraging more people to purchase in hopes of increasing its revenue. Tax cuts are supposed to serve the same purpose. If we had a 90% tax on anyone earning over X, no one would try to be more productive after that point.

Paid maternity leave was the whole reason marriage was invented. It's programs like this that allow the "strong, independent woman" to marry the state and caused the single-motherhood crisis we see today.
