When I think of people targeting George Washington and Thomas Jefferson over slave ownership I get so furious. FDR helped bomb Dresden, which is considered one of the worst crimes in human history, but no one has ever even considered taking down his statues or taking his face off the money because of that. Why? Because the victims of Dresden were white. White people are taught to look at the bigger picture: he's still the man who defeated two evil empires, and led us through the Great Depression, so his virtues trump his vices.
