@janedoe-hq9vn The modern left is basically Heath Ledger's Joker. A nihilistic force of destruction with no long term vision in mind.

Don't give them ideas.
12
@jamesleon4883 So you'd support white Shaka Zulu?
8
@ccdiez8326 The Aztecs, Han Chinese, Mongols, Comanches, Zulu, Japanese, etc. all "colonized." White people are only distinct in being the first group to recognize this was wrong and give up our power out of principle.
8
Pre-Colonial Africa is such fresh, virgin territory for entertainment. So much potential. But the media never wants to talk about black people except when they are being used as a vehicle for white guilt.
7
@MsBabbi She's not the most skilled at looking like Ann Boleyn. That's something white women tend to be better at. Why not ignore sex while we're at it? Get a dude to play her.
5
@gordonbennett5638 What the living fuck is your point? Everyone recognizes that was wrong.
4
@jamesleon4883 If you had an ounce of intelligence you would be able to explain yourself better.
4
@christophergarrard5210 Its about appearance. If a non-disabled person played a guy who was bound to a wheelchair, and he was walking around the entire movie, that would be extremely stupid. You wouldn't cast a ginger as Black Beard.
4
@MsBabbi My God. If mental gymnastics were an Olympic Event, you'd win the gold. Do you even believe what you are saying? When was the last time you saw a ginger portray black beard.
3
@Alsmithize The point is she doesn't look the part, so there's no way to explain this casting other than anti-white racism. If a white-passing Native American wanted to play Ann I would have zero issue with it.
3
That would challenge the "white people are born with a unique genetic predisposition to evil" convention, which the left never wants challenged.
3
@JustPleasant I wish all black people thought like her, but you're naive if you believe so. Social Justice has no color.
3
Their excuse is olways "White people did this in the past, and we told them it was wrong and they came around to agree with us, so now its okay when we do it."
3
And people have screamed theirs heads off about it. If you have a problem with that, you should have a problem with this.
2
WE WUZ executed by KANGZ!
2
@carlamartinez3631 Thank you <3
2
@Idk-dx3rw Pretty sure Ranavalona wasn't black. Madagascar has a weird history. The people there are ethnically closer to South East Asians I'm pretty sure.
2
The media only cares about black people as a lense through which to vilify others.
2
@thrummer1953 That actually would look about right lol
2
They were playing agent of the Persian Empire, which was a huge multicultural empire.
2
@Andre-pb1bg I'm sure the only time that's happened, you found out about it from your sociology class in an article titled "Racism in the Media" or something.
2
When has the left ever intended anything else?

Shaqeel O'Neil as Frodo Baggins!
1
The point is she doesn't fucking look the part and there's no way this casting choice would have been made if not for anti-white racism. Use some common sense.
1
@63theory Don't kid yourself. I don't see Asians getting lynched but anytime they encounter the slightest perceived racism you ball your eyes out for them.
1
@63theory I don't approve of Scarlet Johansson being cast in that role though I never heard of the Ghost in the Shell movie until now.
1
@63theory So has blackwashing white characters. They did this to Joan of Arc not long ago.
1
What genetic evidence is this? They weren't white, but they sure as hell weren't black either. You can see they depicted Nubians very differently from themselves on heiroglyphs. Also why does any point need to be made? There's already uproar when someone pulls a "Gods of Egypt" so what are they trying to do? Put a hat on a hat?
1
Being executed by Henry VIII is an accomplishment?
1
Studies show African Americans are highly over-represented in the media, but Hispanics are greatly under-represented. When is Martin Luther King going to be played by a Latinx to correct this abominable black privilege?
1
I've seen a couple in the comments defending this.
1
@Admire Kashiri "Many of you white folks are so consumed and blinded by your privilege that you any attempt at opportunities for equality are seen as an affront to you. Roles for white actors abound (as ALL OF YOU ARE AWARE OF--PLEASE STOP PRETENDING), they will never go away, they only grow as time goes on and they're already infinite!!! Acting opportunities for white actors are here 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Plays, movies, TV, you name it. The limited opportunities for black/other non-white actors is one of the many reasons these particular actors playing a white person from history is not offensive or wrong. As a black/non-white actor, at some point you may have to try to compete for these roles b/c that might be the only acting opportunity for you. The reason why it's not an equivalent reverse of a white actor playing a non-white person is that those opportunities by definition are already limited (MOST MOVIES produced in America are NOT ABOUT people of color--once again please stop pretending you don't know this). So, a white person taking those FEW roles from people who only have those few roles available is not comparable. Sorry for the interruption to your proud boys/klan meeting---yes you---if you are offended/appalled---you are the problem." -house call
1
Blacks are already so grossly over-represented in America. There are more "non-white Hispanics" in the US than black people, yet I can't remember the last time I saw an olive skinned "Latinx" cast in any role. Diversity just means less white people.
1
Do you see blondes being cast as Black Beard or Adolf Hitler? We care about hair color in casting, why not skin color?
1
@ChrisWilliams-nf8kl For fuck's sake, the point is she doesn't look the part and only anti-white racism could explain the casting.
1
@ChrisWilliams-nf8kl Race is superficial. Hair color is superficial. No one ignores hair color when casting: Shakespeare, Hitler, Edward Thatch etc. always have black hair. Stop these mind games.
1
@MsBabbi Hair color matters when casting, as we just established, so why doesn't skin color?
1
Nah, this is about trampling on white people. Ghandi and Buddha are safe.
1
@srayanjacobs6530 There's going to be an SJW civil war lol
1
@arp5546 So in other words the age of equality is about compensating past injustice with present injustice. Gee I can't imagine why white people fear becoming minorities.
1
@arp5546 Over representing straight white people was an injustice, so over representing gays and black people is logically an injustice too. Also Thomas Kelly, Tony Timpa, and Joseph Hutcheson rotting in graves forgotten while George Floyd and Rodney King get riots should probably count, but I'd like to keep this discussion on representation in the media.
1
When was the last time you saw a blonde play Black Beard?
1
@blackknightjack3850 Stop playing dumb. You wouldn't accept a white Shaka Zulu even though race had nothing to do with this life. Actors are supposed to look the part. You don't see blonde men with no facial hair cast as Black Beard. There is no way this casting choice would have happened if not for anti-white racism.
1
So should a blonde with no facial hair play Black Beard?
1
You're using the 1940s as a template!? There were fucking lynchings in the 1940s! You cry about white-washing and then do the very thing you condemn!
1
"This awoman is NOT BLACK" - Borat
1
Yes, but they are all third world. Wokeness is comfort induced stupidity.
1
Was Shakespeare blonde in "Shakespeare in Love"? Was Hitler a ginger in "Downfall"?
1
@Jabber-ig3iw That's because you'd have to be pretty erudite to realize the historical inaccuracies in Braveheart.
1
@zazilicious Name one.
1
@zazilicious That's interesting, but I couldn't find the Dakar study or the Aristotle quote. But if you look at hieroglyphs, the Egyptians clearly depicted themselves distinctly from Nubians (Sudanese). "Wooly hair" could refer to 3c hair, which still to this day is more common in Egypt than in, say, Iraq. Also, there were a lot of black people living in Egypt due to Nubian conquest. Obviously there's no clear point where the brown become black, as race is really a spectrum. So whether the Egyptians were black might be more semantics than anything.
1
Exactly. I've never seen a blonde play Hitler or Black Beard. This is outrageous because the decision is almost certainly about anti-white racism.
1
Because they looked the fucking part. This is common sense. I have no problem with a "white passing POC" playing Anne Boleyn, but this casting choice makes zero sense from any perspective other than the exclusion of white people.
1
"White Jesus" is hard to undue because people wouldn't recognize him if he was portrayed realistically.
1
@Bellthorian It's not even about God figures. People's minds just naturally fill in those who look like them when they hear stories. I remember I dated a girl from Brooklyn. Most of the people she grew up around were black but it took me a while to stop picturing everyone she talked about as white by default.
1
The left is not FOR anyone or anything. They are only AGAINST.
1
Right and black people were lynched "back in the day". What's your point?
1
People have been screaming about white-washing like crazy for the past 5+ years. What are you talking about "unproblematic"?
1
If these people don't go to hell when they die, there is no hell.
1
Studies show African Americans are already over-represented in the media. Christ look at commercials today and you'd think 60% of America is black. If you want to help under represented groups get acting jobs, will you give the role of Frederick Douglass to a "Latinx"?
1
No it shows how the media really wishes white people didn't exist.
1
And people have called them out on it. What's your point? (Also in the case of Native Americans I have no problem with a white passing Native playing Anne Boleyn. The problem is the actress doesn't look the part, so there's no way to explain this decision other than anti-white racism).
1
@ccdiez8326 I'm sure all the reasons you hate white people you learned from your white K-12 teachers.
1
The only way to fight this is to turn the SJWs against each other. Start portraying Mulan as black, Pocahontas as black, etc.
1
Because they don't love black people, they hate white people.
1
Studies fucking show African Americans are OVER-REPRESENTED in US media. If you asked the average high school kid what portion of the US population is black, he would guess "1/3" or "1/4" because there is so much tokenism. So no, objectively you are more likely to get an acting role in the US if you are black.
1
@Bellthorian It was about 25% until the George Floyd riots. Now its about 50%.
1
@paperdoll5467 White people recognized over-representing ourselves in the media was wrong, which was why we stopped doing it. Now you are imitating the very behavior you called us out for. Black people get far more representation in the media than Hispanics, so why don't you practice what you preach and turn the role of Martin Luther King or Frederick Douglass over to a "Latinx."
1
@paperdoll5467 You complain about white people being over represented in acting, and use this as an excuse to cast people unrealistically, and then call him racist when he calls out black people being over represented in the media? Go to hell.
1
Cleopatra WAS white. She was Greek. And if he's going to do a turnabout with casting, we have to do a turnabout with outrage as well.
1
Two WOCs? That would confuse the crap out of the SJWs!
1
I hate this but it's not black face. Blackface is painting your face and its considered offensive because it reminds people of minstrel shows. Don't give them ideas. I would hate to see the definition of black face broadened so much.
1
This is part of a trend. Joan of Ark was black in a recent British documentary as well.
1
Not point is erasure of white people, not inclusion of black people. These are the same people who complain about everything being "too white" but have no problem with rap or basketball being "too black."
1
The fucking point is in the second two cases they look the part. Actors are supposed to look like the role they are taking on. If she was a "white passing" minority with mixed heritage we wouldn't care. But there is no way to explain this casting other than anti-white racism. We don't cast blondes to play Black Beard or Shakespeare.
1
@n.m.9938 I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Never heard of "The gravy song."
1
The natives of Ancient Egypt are called Berbers. They are not black looking. They look much like modern Egyptians.
1
@Admire Kashiri So who are the Berbers? Did they just fall out of the sky?
1
@some1350 Look up "Greek Nubian Egyptian Hieroglyph". Ancient Egypts clearly depicted themselves distinctly from Nubians.
1
If this cut both ways it would just be annoying. The fact that it doesn't means it's exactly what white people were doing in the early-20th century back when white supremacy was mainstream.
1
They made it crystal clear they went out of their way to hire here because she's black (or at least not white).
1
When has the left ever intended anything else?
1
Cleopatra WAS white (Greek). Gods of Egypt got panned. And white Jesus goes back to the 1400s so its hard to undo without confusing people.
1
@ScribblebytesWorldwide Because they looked the fucking part. You don't see blondes being cast as Hitler or Shakespeare or Black Beard. So the only way to explain this casting is anti-white racism. We care if actors look like the people they are playing, why does that suddenly cease to be true when dealing with Anne?
1
Next up, Shaqeel O'Neil as Frodo Baggins!
1
@ccdiez8326 Colonizers? Look up Bantu Expansionism. You don't even know your own people's history yet think you are hot shit because you watched Black Panther.
