  3. FYI, Hosokawa is one of the many branches of the Ashikaga-family. Ashikaga is one of branches of the Minamoto-clan. Since there are 21 different known Minamoto-clans, to avoid confusion they're called Seiwa-genji, or more specifically Kawachi-genji. It means Minamoto-family that descend from Emperor SEIWA and lived in Kawachi or present day East Osaka.

  5. Political and religious authority separated by 6th century in Japan. Since then Emperor's role has been and still is mainly religious. As this video alluded to, some Emperor's tried to capture political power, but almost all of them failed and were exiled to remote islands.
