  1. The origin of the Land Cruiser is that it was initially designed for military use over 70 years ago. The name is not a coincidence. Which is why everything is over-built and components are specifically designed, and everything is expensive. As for why certain models are not sold in the US is more due to US tariffs and emission regulations to protect US auto-industry and unions.
