  1. The people who live near Altai Mountains, Yenisey River, and Lake Baikal region are direct descendants of the real Turks. Even the Gokturk Orkhon Inscriptions record that Turks will survive as long as they stay in the mountain forests of this region. The Sakha/Yakut used to live around Lake Baikal region until they were pushed out by expanding Mongols in the 13th century. (That's why the Mongols live near Lake Baikal now.) One of the most noteworthy characteristics of Turks is their high level of metal/iron craftwork.
