  1. Honda just had record profits. They are opening a new plant in Canada, as North America is the most important market for them and there is strong demand for hybrid vehicles. In 2024, around 40-50% of new cars sales in North America for both Honda and Toyota are hybrids. Australia is in an uniquely challenging market in which pick-up trucks (i.e. utes) are the top sellers.
