  2. Military fights battles while politicians fight wars. What the military can or cannot do, what type of equipment or tactics can or cannot be used also follows the guidelines by political authority. As such it's not fair to blame it all on military leadership. Starting the Iraq war while Afghan war wasn't finished was the biggest mistake, in my view.
