  1. Russia has always been "rotten" and stood on a delicate power-balance. It's naive to assume that a "free and democratic" Russia can remain as one entity. Internal socio-economic and regional disparities are so huge, Russia needs to split into multiple countries for that to happen. No single person or regime can manage Russia without an iron fist. Without a strong and powerful regime, Russia can easily disintegrate, which is not a bad thing for the quality of life of ordinary Russian citizens in the long-run. But for the sake of nuclear safety, we need Russia to be united and stable.
