@notme8652 Please don't drag Japan into this. Discrimination within South Korea exists. Some of it is coming from culture, socio-economic class, education level, regional history, etc. But prejudices exist even between Northern and Southern Italy. I know a few Zainichi Koreans who had a difficult time adjusting to South Korea. They hated their treatment in South Korea so much, they actually naturalized to Japanese citizenship after studying in South Korea. The resentment or discrimination towards overseas ethnic Koreans such as Zainichi or 高麗人 or Korean-Americans...is something that only ethnic Koreans can fully understand or explain. I don't think it's something shallow as racism or xenophobia...I suspect it's Social Class-ism.
