@bartlett2335 In reality, native English speakers often have a distinct accent when they pronounce Japanese words (and vice versa). Not only is the vowel butchered, but more importantly the pitch accent is off. In comparison, phonetic overlap makes it much easier for Slavic and Romance/Latin native speakers to pronounce Japanese words more clearly and elegantly. In most cases HAGORMO will be pronounced Heygo-RO-mor by an American, and Hagoro-MO by an Italian or French speaker. This narrator has a very good understanding of Japanese phonetics and intonation (i.e. pitch accent).
